Please note: If you are new to Fit and Fabulous, or you have not attended Pilates classes regularly in the recent past, you are required to attend at least one General class before progressing to our level 1 classes. If you are new to Pilates please book in for a private session first. Alternatively start your Pilates journey by attending a few of our mat Pilates classes first.

If you have any injuries please book in for a private session so we can give you an individual assessment before you sign up for a class.

  • The Level 1 class is more challenging that the General class. We assume that Level 1 students have a solid grasp and understanding of Pilates principles and how to execute Pilates movements with correct form, pace, alignment and core engagement.

Each class will include moving planks, balance work that requires standing on top of the reformer, spine flexion and rotation (so not suitable for people with low bone density, injuries or joint issues). Each class also includes at least one cardio exercise.

Transitions between sequences in these classes are quick so students must be able to adjust themselves, the box, springs and foot bar with minimal prompting. This ensures that the lesson moves at a tempo from one sequence to the next for all students without holdups. This is also why we ask students to attend a few General classes before booking in for a Level 1 class as it takes some practice to manage the transitions with ease.

    * Please note that all new Reformer clients are required to attend at least one or more Reformer Fundamentals class from our schedule first. Alternatively, please book in for a Pilates Private session first. A One-on-One session is especially recommended for people who are new to exercise or who have an existing injury or condition.

  • Our Prenatal classes will end on April 24 204 until further notice.

We need at least 3 people to run a dedicated prenatal classes and can add them back to the timetable if we get enough people. Please send a message via our contact form if you are interested and would liko to be added to our waitlist.

These classes are very similar to our General classes but modified to be just perfect for women in the 2nd or 3rd trimester of their pregnancy.

All clients receive a full body workout that focuses on core engagement and back friendly moves, full body conditioning and relaxing stretches that are safe for pregnancy.

For our prenatal ladies, your body will be changing during this period and your energy levels may fluctuate significantly from one day to the next. These small classes are highly customisable for students and what their needs are on the day of their class.

WHAT IS THE REFORMER?

The reformer is quite a remarkable invention, using a system of springs, straps, and a sliding carriage to provide resistance and support for various exercises.

It was designed by Joseph Pilates to help his clients create a balanced and painfree body, a flexible spine and a strong, responsive core. His clients ranged from athletes and dancers who wanted to get better at their sport/art and avoid injury, right though to office workers with poor posture and people recovering from injury.
