OUR COVID-19 SAFETY PLAN

As at 1 January 2023

Although we have maintained most of our precautionary measures and hygeine standards due to Covid-19, we have relaxed in a few ways.

We are delighted that both Studio classes and one-on-one sessions are again being held at One Penny Lane studio. Needless to say, the safety of our clients, students, instructors and surrounding Blue Mountains community are of utmost priority and concern as we move past this period

Please take a few minutes to read through this plan, as it directly impacts all students and clients of Fit and Fabulous.

What has changed in 2023.

  • Clients are most welcome to wear a mask during classes or sessions if they wish however this is not a requirement of admission to the studio.

  • Although it is strongly recommended that you are at least double vaccinated, this is no longer policed. However we are strongly in the pro-vacc camp and regardless of whether or not you are vaccinated, if you have any incling of possibly having Covid or a cold, please do not attend your session. Regretfully if you cancel at short notice you forfeit your session but we also reserve the right to ask you to leave if you are showing flu-like symptoms.

  • Class numbers are still being limited to less than our pre-Covid capacity to allow some social distancing. It is requested that clients do not congregate in the bag area and that you arrive and leave the studio as close your session time as possible.

Safety and Cleaning Procedures:

All instructors have been briefed on Covid-19 Infection training before opening studio classes and personal training.

Only students and clients who have pre-booked a class or session may access the studio.

Students or clients are restricted from participating in live sessions if they have been in a area that is considered a Covid-19 hotspot in the last 14 days, or if they are currently awaiting the results of a Covid test.

Hand wash signs have been placed at the sink basins. Other Covid-19 Safety signs are on display in the studio.

Hand sanitisers are available at the entry and in each studio. Disinfectant is available for cleaning down of small props and equipment by students before and after use.

Both studios are professionally cleaned and sprayed on a regular basis.

New cleaning processes have been implemented with more frequent and thorough sterilisation of frequent touch point surface areas such barres, outdoor railing, door handles, surfaces, equipment and seating areas.

Social distancing is applied in both studios and entry to the premises.

Hand towels are used the bathroom and to wipe down equipment with disinfectant.

In Classes:

Instructors in each class or session also hold the role of hygiene marshall and are responsible for ensuring and policing that a reasonable distance between all participants is maintained.

Students attending classes will requested to bring their own fitness mat or a large towel (Fitness mats are available for use and also for sale for students. Towels are available for hire. Please enquire directly).

Students are to place mats over designated spacing marks or wait for direction from their instructor at the commencement of each class.

Class timetable starting times have changed to at least 10 minutes between classes to allow time for students to leave the premises and for staff to undertake essential cleaning process before allowing other students to enter.

Classes will be limited to 9 people in the Penny Lane studio and 30 people at St Canice’s hall. Even though we would be permitted to admit more students we prefer to err on the side of caution.

All students must register online in advance to secure their place in the class and sign the online waiver agreeing to the conditions in this plan.

There will be no sharing of props such as weights during classes. Students are asked to help by sterilising what they use before and after class with the provided antiseptic cleaner and paper towels.

Student Responsibilities:

Students are asked to maintain a fair distance between other students and instructors at all times. Students must adhere if directed to change position by their instructor.

Students and clients will be required to use hand sanitiser when arriving and leaving the studio.

Students are required to bring their own fitness mat and/or large towel.(Studio mats can be used but only if covered completely with a towel. Towels will be available for hire.)

Students and clients are asked to delay their arrival at the studio or wait outdoors (if safe to do so) or in their car until 5 minutes before the starting time of their session or class.

Students and clients are asked to leave within 5 minutes of the end of their class or session.

Students are asked to stay at home and not use the studio if they are unwell or have symptoms, even if it means forfeiting your class. (but let us know as someone may be on the waiting list).

Clients using Pilates equipment are required to use a towel and wear socks and cotton gloves (available in studio).

Reporting:

In the event there is a reported COVID-19 positive case in the studio we will contact any students and instructors that may possibly have been impacted and encourage them to get tested as a precaution. The studio would also be professionally disinfected before resuming classes and services.
