WHAT IS THE REFORMER?
The reformer is quite a remarkable invention, using a system of springs, straps, and a sliding carriage to provide resistance and support for various exercises.
It was designed by Joseph Pilates to help his clients create a balanced and pain free body, a flexible spine and a strong, responsive core. His clients ranged from athletes and dancers who wanted to get better at their sport/art and avoid injury, right though to office workers with poor posture and people recovering from injury.
